Mitarashi Dango helps you buy doujinshi from Japan. Many circles and shops do not ship overseas. We will purchase the doujinshi from stores in Japan and ship them to you.
We also handle other types of books, manga, etc. Please email us (mita.dango@gmail.com) for more details.

We reserve the right to refuse any orders for reasons we are not obliged to disclose.
FEES
We charge a small fee for each doujinshi we help you to purchase.

PAYMENT
We prefer payment by Paypal. There will be a Paypal fee of 3.9% + 40yen for each transaction.
Because we require a deposit before we buy your doujinshi, and payment of the balance after that, Paypal is the most efficient way to do this.
Concealed cash will be difficult. We will only consider accepting concealed cash if the order is very large, and in that case you will have to send us at least the full cost of the doujinshi before we will buy them. After that, if the amount you have sent is not enough to cover the service fee, handling fee and shipping cost, you will have to send us the balance amount. We only accept Japanese yen. Change given will be in Japanese yen.
SHIPPING
We charge a flat fee of 200yen for handling. Each order will be bubble-wrapped and shipped in a padded envelope. The handling fee goes towards the cost of the packaging materials.

HOW IT WORKS
- 1. Copy the order form (below) into your email and fill it out. Send the email to: mita.dango@gmail.com
Please give us the details as exactly as possible. If the titles are in Japanese, please give us the titles in Japanese and don’t romanise them. Same goes for the circle/artist. If there is any extra information that you think we should know, or will need, please include it!
Feel free to give us the links to the items in shop websites if you have them. - We will check and see if we are able to get the doujinshi that you want. We will reply to your email telling you which ones we are able to get, as well as the domestic shipping costs involved.
- After receiving our reply, you will have to send us a deposit (with the corresponding Paypal fee of 3.9% + 40yen). The deposit will be 50% of the total cost of your doujinshi. (In the case that we cannot find your doujinshi after receiving the deposit, we will refund your deposit.)
- We will buy your doujinshi.
- After packing your doujinshi, we will email you again with the shipping cost.
- You will then send us the balance amount:
- the remaining 50% of the cost of the doujinshi
- the service fee (which varies depending on the number of books)
- the handling fee (200yen)
- the international shipping cost (which varies depending on the weight of your doujinshi)
- Paypal fee (3.9% + 40yen)
- the remaining 50% of the cost of the doujinshi
- We will ship your doujinshi.
- Upon receiving your package, please drop us an email so that we know the package has reached safely.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Why do I have to pay a deposit?
A. This is to lessen the chance of customers cancelling on us after we have bought the books.
** In the event that you cancel your order after paying the deposit, your deposit will be forfeited.
Q. What is the handling fee?
A. The handling fee covers packaging material. Each order will be wrapped in bubble-wrap and shipped in a padded envelope. We will not be responsible for what damage the package suffers in the mail, but we will package it with great care, so there shouldn't be any problem unless your postman stamps on it, or something.
Q. Why do I need to give you a link to the circle's website?
A. We need to see the cover of the doujinshi and other details pertaining to it, so as to ensure that we get the right one.
Q. Why are there so many fees?
A. "Item cost, domestic shipping (if necessary), bank transfer fee (if necessary), handling fee, international shipping, Paypal fee, service fee... isn't that a lot of fees?!"
Actually, no. The only real "fee" is the service fee. The rest are costs contributing to the item.
Q. Why are the doujinshi prices higher than those listed on the circle websites?
A. We charge exactly how much we bought the doujinshi for, from the stores. The circle website prices are lower because they sell direct at events. When the doujinshis go into a store, their price increases as well because the store takes a cut of the profit.
Q. Do you handle mail orders with the doujinka?
A. Yes, we do. However, you will have to pay the domestic shipping for the item and other miscellaneous fees that may arise (e.g. bank transfer fee) in addition to the amount payable. We also charge a service fee of 500yen per book because it is a more troublesome process. Please send us an email (with a link to the relevant websites) and we will tell you if we are able to do it.
** Please note that we generally do not provide translation services, neither will we email the doujinka for you. If you wish to clarify anything with the doujinka before placing your order through us, please do so yourself.
Q. Do you handle Yahoo Japan Auctions?
A. No, we do not.
Q. Do you cover events like Comiket and Comic City?
A. Generally we avoid events. If you've been to an event before you will understand why. There are several reasons, the main ones being (a) Events are messy, and (b) Events involve transportation cost, entrance fee, physical labour and emotional cost, which is more than we are prepared to take on for the paltry fee that we charge. If we are covering any event we will put a notice on this website and notify our regular customers.
Q. Can I combine several orders?
A. If you make more than one order within a reasonable period of time (say, a week or two), we can combine your orders and you will pay the service fee for the entire order. For example, Order 1 contains 2 books and Order 2 contains 3 books. The service fee you pay will be 1550yen for 5 books. However, please keep in mind that we will only purchase the books after receiving the deposit, and Paypal charges a fee for each transaction. So you will end up paying 40yen more (which goes to Paypal) than if you had just made one order for the 5 books.
Alternatively, if you already know that you are going to make another order soon, let us know and we will ask for your deposit after receiving your next order. Then you will only have to send us the deposit once. But the books in Order 1 that were previously available may have become unavailable by the time Order 2 comes in.
Q. When will you buy the books?
A. We will buy your books after receiving the deposit payment. How long we will take to get your books depends on how much time we have to go pick them up (the demands of daily life are not to be underestimated). Usually, we will get your books within two weeks or so.
